Currently Rick is part of the team that is Crispythinking, a small agency that originates ad creative across all media. The latest from Crispythinking is an app for the iPhone which has been the top selling reference app in the iTunes Store since it was launched.

Alongside this, Rick is involved in teaching and mentoring within the agency world:

Agencycoaching  offers media companies bespoke training programmes to help their executives perform better. A focussed curriculum based in practical experience produces immediate results. Topics covered are highly practical and applicable to the day to day work of ad and media agency staff.

Most recently Rick has been involved in coaching and mentoring the CEO of one of the most successful and fastest growing of the new breed of digital advertising agencies. TBG London has developed from an 18 man digital media buying shop into a 60 person full service agency with blue chip clients and a bright future. Rick has had significant input across the board, devising internal training programmes, guiding the development of new departments (email, creative, mobile) and helping with senior recruitment. He has also provided advice on acquisitions and succession for the company. Along the way he has helped the CEO, Simon Mansell, win the Media Week Young Media Person of the Year 2006 award and the company is listed in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to work for in 2008.

Before working with TBG, Rick was the founder of Media21 and also of Glue London. These companies were started in the late 1990’s and were later sold to Grey via the Beyond Interactive brand, for whom Rick acted as European Chairman subsequent to the sale. He was responsible for the integration of the Beyond network into Mediacom in 2001/2002.

Prior to this Rick founded and later sold Eureka!, one of the first recruitment firms in the ad agency/internet space.

Rick’s early career was in major ad agencies such as Lowe, Y&R, Saatchi, where he held Board level positions from 1986. Rick has a degree in Law & Philosophy.

For the last few years Rick has also been building a land and property portfolio in Bulgaria. As part of this business he set up an estate agency in the UK as a partner company for the biggest Bulgarian property company for which he also provided marketing consultancy services. That business has been sold but Rick still maintains a personal portfolio in Bulgaria.
